ScribbleLive And Local Media Consortium Partner To Increase Audience Engagement Live
Partnership Brings Leading Live Publishing Software to Media Outlets Nationwide
May 13, 2015 – The Local Media Consortium, a nationwide alliance of leading local media outlets, announced a new partnership with ScribbleLive, the preeminent live publishing and content marketing software platform.
The agreement will provide Local Media Consortium (LMC) members exclusive access to leading live publishing software.
The LMC represents more than 61 local media companies in top markets across the United States and Puerto Rico covering more than 1,400 individual publications. LMC has an audience footprint of more than 470 monthly million unique visitors (aggregate), and LMC member companies serve more than four billion page views monthly.
ScribbleLive is a real-time content publishing platform used by a growing number of the world’s largest news organizations and brands to deliver enhanced coverage, drive engagement, and create new revenue opportunities. Driven by the increasing demand for relevant real-time news and event coverage, ScribbleLive has established itself as a market leader by providing organizations with easy-to-use technology backed by big data. Using ScribbleLive, media organizations can figure out what topics their audiences care about, and then curate or create original content to meet those needs.
“ScribbleLive has given our members’ editorial teams a new way to tell stories in an interactive way, benefitting the high-quality journalism they already provide to their communities,” said Christian A. Hendricks, Chair of the Local Media Consortium’s Executive Committee and Vice President, Interactive Media for The McClatchy Company. “This valuable platform helps local news teams boost public engagement and keep residents informed as ongoing stories develop and unfold.”
For LMC members who are currently ScribbleLive customers, this partnership means a strengthened relationship. Greg Schermer, Vice President of Strategy, Lee Enterprises, said, “Lee has been a ScribbleLive customer for many years. ScribbleLive is a core and important vendor for the company’s live event coverage. The ability to manage and edit various interactive streams simultaneously has significantly improved our mobile and online coverage for the benefit of our audience.”
The LMC goes through an extensive, months-long process to choose partner companies, including polling media members about their needs and priorities, and vetting only the highest-quality service providers who have expressed interest in working with the Consortium. LMC members are not bound to work exclusively with specific service providers, but the benefit to both members and the service providers is significant.
“The strength of news has always rested on the individual media outlets,” said ScribbleLive co-founder Michael Demonte. “ScribbleLive’s partnership with the LMC allows these properties to have access to the most advanced live publishing technology in the market.”
